Middle, Secondary & SEN/D Settings

North Tyneside Music is proud to be part of the North-East Music Hub, funded by the Department for Education and managed by Arts Council England.

We offer highly subsidised, inclusive and high-quality support to all middle, secondary and SEN/D school settings in the borough.

North Tyneside Music works with all schools via a service level agreement (SLA) which aligns with DfE expectations and has been crafted based on stakeholder feedback and needs. We assist schools in providing a high-quality, progressive music curriculum, ensuring access to excellent progression routes, performance opportunities, and additional enrichment activities.

Schools can choose to opt into our Foundation, Enhanced or Premium SLA Package.

All packages include:

  • 45 hours of visiting music tutor time across the year

  • Access to local and regional CPD programme including termly network meetings

  • 1 x digital curriculum licence (e.g. Charanga, Sing Up)

  • 30% discount code for Out of the Ark’s Platform, Sparkyard

  • Support with curriculum and assessment design

  • 1:1 annual support/advisory strategic meeting on writing school music development plan

  • Regular updates on local, regional and national issues/initiatives

  • Free access to all NTM ensembles and choirs for all pupils. Access to collaborative performances, cluster and transition events, e.g. singing events at Whitley Bay Playhouse.

  • Free instrumental loan service to all schools

North Tyneside Music is hub lead organisation for the North-East Music Hub, one of 42 music hubs in England funded by the Department for Education and managed by Arts Council England.
